Gibson / Les Paul Reissue 59 "Standard 83" / 1983 / Sunburst / Guitar For Sale

1983 Gibson Les Paul Standard 83. This is a rare Gibson limited edition from 1983. We've been told Gibson made around 200 of these, but we've never seen another so believe the figure is far less. Similar to a Standard heritage 80 this edition was closer to a real 59's spec. It has a narrow Kalamazoo bridge and single ring tulip Klusons. The guitar is 100% original, lightweight and mint, Light Sunburst, most incredible quilted Maple top ever, Rosewood fretboard, 83' pots, Tim Shaw pickups, 100% original, weighs 9 lbs. - 8.0 oz., excellent neck frets, no cracks-breaks-repairs, chunky neck, an incredible guitar, tempted to keep this beauty, has light play wear, very well cared for, do not miss this RARE one, overall great condition, a steal at any price, has the original hard case

Mark KnopflerGibson Les Paul Standard 83 Mark used an 80s Les Paul Standard on the recording of Brothers in Arms album in 1985, which he bought from Rudy Pensa circa 1984.Apparently the serial number of the guitar is #90006, which would place the guitar among the first batch of ’59 Les Paul Flametop reissues made in 1983. Mark’s BiA Les Paul was made during the Norlin era – which is often characterized by decreasing product quality. It featured one piece mahogany body with two-piece flamed maple top in cherry sunburst, nickel hardware, and two Gibson Shaw humbuckers .If you want to know at what price it is sold today look here "
