Larrivee / OM-03 LA Limited Edition Maple Leaf Indian Laurel / 2016 / Guitar For Sale

Here for sale 2016 Larrivee OM-03 LA Limited Edition Maple Leaf Indian Laurel.

East Indian Laurel (Terminalla elliptica) is a spectacular and often overlooked species of tonewood. It has been used to great effect here on the Larrivee OM-03LA Laurel Limited. It has the look and feel to that of East Indian Rosewood and American and English Walnut. Known for its exceptional tap tone quality, Laurel offers up rich overtones and brilliant highs that produce an overall lively and vibrant presence. It's sound is often compared to that of Blackwood or Brazilian Rosewood. Complimenting the select East Indian Laurel back and sides is a unique Laurel leaf headstock inlay which has been designed by Wendy Larrivee. Each is hand inlaid consisting of 15 individually cut pieces, creating an all new and pertinent inlay for this limited run. In an effort to use no dye, the inlays are made from Aspen, poplar, and blood wood. It's a stunning addition to the Larrivee OM-03LA.

As with all Larrivee acoustics, this OM03LA has been hand built in Oxnard California to exacting standards. Larrivee's OM guitar features a 25.5 inch scale with a 14th fret neck join. A high quality solid Sitka Spruce top is the perfect partner to the beautifully grained solid East Indian Laurel back and sides. Ebony is used for the bridge, fingerboard and headcap. The body and neck features delicate Maple binding with Multi-Strip top purfling and a Herringbone rosette. It's a classy yet understated look. A bone nut and saddle help the transfer of tone through the instruments solid woods. It's a match made in heaven! Each guitar carries Jean Larrivée's hand written signature on the inside label and comes complete in a deluxe fitted hard case.

The guitar is in very good overall condition but has been played so has some minor marks here and there. Great acoustic from Larrivee and comes with an original hard case.
