Gibson / Les Paul Custom, Ace Frehley- Owned / 1983 / Black / Guitar

As the solo in "Making Love" permeates the Elk lair, my mind wanders. It actually wanders all the time; Sometimes, it's trivial and other times, it's with something really deep. Have you ever seen the movie "It's a Wonderful Life?" The synopsis of that movie was about a man who pondered if the world would have been better place without him in it. With the assistance of his guardian angel, Clarence we learn how differently the town of Bedford Falls would really have been without George Bailey. That led me to ask myself the question, "What would the landscape of Rock-n-Roll be without Kiss? Just think on how many future bands would had been influenced by other bands, if not Kiss. Can you imagine if James Hetfield had never heard "Deuce" but instead was swayed by the sounds of "Saturday Night" by the Bay City Rollers? Would there even be a Metallica as we know it? I can tell you for a fact that without Ace Frehley, there would be no Dimebag Darrell. Therefore, no Dime, no Pantera. If we continue along with this reasoning, then where would you currently be without having ever listened to Kiss? For me and my short business partner, we would not have been inspired or shall I say, compelled to pick up our respective instruments. If Ace didn't speak to me back in the 70's, I wouldn't have played in "hair" bands in the 80's and if that hadn't happened, I would have never developed a deep affection for guitars. No deep affection for guitars, no GrinningElk and no GrinningElk, no short business partner. No short business partner, then I would have been deprived of years of laughing 'till I cried. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of meeting most of the members of Kiss, I've listened to Kiss on more road trips than I can count and have seen them live more than a few times. If you follow us, then you know Ray and I are the real deal when it comes to our great love of Kiss and in that light, we can say that "we understand." If you have ever stared at the insert booklet in Kiss "Alive" for hours or if you ever listened to "Firehouse" as the droning of Gene's bass echoed through that 10x10 you called a room, imagining when he actually spit fire, then we understand. Or, if you know the exact moment Paul says "Guitar" in "I Stole Your Love," then we get it and as you can see, we now have something special for you. This guitar represents a sacred part of our lives and is your chance to possess one of the Les Pauls that was actually owned and played by Ace Frehley. Because Kiss will soon be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, we feel this offering is a timely and fitting tribute to one of the founding members of the greatest band in the world. We hope you feel the same way!
