About: Michalis Pantelides was born in Nicosia, Cyprus.He studied Violin Making at the «Istituto Professionale per L’Artigianato Liutario e del Legno Antonio Stradivari» in Cremona, Italy under the instruction of Maestro V. Bissolotti and Angelo Sperzaga. In 2003 he received the «Diploma di Tecnico di Liuteria». During 2003-2004 he had his practical experience under the instruction of Maestro T. Matsushita. In 2004 he received the «Qualifica Regionale di Liutaio» (Violin Maker Qualification). In 2005 he received the diploma of Bow Maker after attending the Regional course of bow making under the instruction of Maestro G. Lucchi. During his studies he received several awards including the «Premio Grandi-Taglietti» (2001), the «XII Premio M° Piero Ferraroni» (2003) and the award «Duilio Negroni» (2004). He was a member of ALI (Associazione Liutaia Italiana) and currently a member of CAS (Catgut Acoustical Society) and of VSA (Violin Society of America). Presently, since 2005, he creates at his own studio in Nicosia – Cyprus and collaborating with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, Nicosia Music School, Limassol Music School, English School and several public and private music schools and institutions.
