Charvel
Charvel 4 string Basses For sale
Charvel has a long history of changing hands, which makes for a variety of guitars bearing the Charvel name. The original Charvels (pre-1978) were Strat revamps made out of assorted pieces with a single humbucker. Shortly after Jackson bought Charvel, Randy Rhoads approached him to create the perfect guitar, and the rest is history. The Rhoads interpretation of the Flying-V inspired Jackson to form Jackson guitars, and for a while, Charvel guitars were sought-after by many musicians, especially those playing heavy metal. In the late 80s, Charvel's production was shipped overseas to Japan and the craftsmanship began to slip, although the brand has begun to recover since Fender's takeover in 2002.
Vinnie Vincent, Richie Sambora, Eddie Van Halen, and Eddie Ojeda have all played Charvel guitars.
