Electra guitars are best known for the Modular Power Circuits (MPC) models, which came out in the late 1970s, after Electra's designs became cohesive and Electra became known for making good, inexpensive guitars. The MPC was revolutionary at the time because it offered players the options for special effects, which were previously unavailable on the guitar itself. Most models were offered without the MPC option, and those made in the late 70s rivaled other popular guitar companies in quality.
