Pre War Martin 00-21 1929 – this is an amazing example of a Pre War, light weight big bodied Martin guitar.
The Martin “Pre War” guitars, from the time shortly before the 2nd World War and during the early days of the war, are very popular among collectors.
With these guitars best materials, a sound-optimized construction and careful manual work come together and form so unique dream instruments. The number of guitars built by Martin was very small at that time, so that very few “Pre War” Martins are sold today.
The top made of German spruce with its complex harmonics and the extra portion of clarity was only used for a limited number of instruments and only for these old instruments. The back and sides are made of high quality rosewood.
This 00 – 21 really sounds very, very, very good. It is really mature and perfectly balanced, with present mids, crystal clear highs and nice basses.
It has a beautiful even well balanced tone and is an amazing example of a cool player guitar. The sound is bold, open and woody – all you desire.
Many country and rock stars of the 50s and 60s for example Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson played such a guitar.
This one has all the vintage vibe you have ever dreamed about!
It is set up nicely with low action, straight neck and good frets. Perfectly playable.
It has a few cracks that have been professionally repaired.
It comes with a fitting non original case.
