This is a cool 000-28ECB # 277 of 500. You’ll see plenty of 000-28EC’s around, as Martin continues to make this guitar in East Indian Rosewood. This 000-28ECB was made in a limited run of 500 instruments & this guitar features Brazilian Rosewood on the back, sides and headstock lamination. The 000-28ECB… has the smaller “000” body size that Clapton prefers and that is particularly popular among finger style and blues guitarists who like a clear and balanced sound together with the string flexibility that the shorter 24.9″ scale length. This has a very rare Dark Sunburst Shaded Top finish that maybe 20 examples had…otherwise all had a clear finished Sitka Spruce top finish. Crafted with solid woods throughout, the sides and back are constructed from solid colorful & striped Brazilian Rosewood. The top is book matched from select Sitka spruce for optimum tonal response. The rosette is embellished with delicately inlaid herringbone pearl & the body is bound with grained ivoroid. A genuine ebony fingerboard features abalone diamonds and squares bordered in mother of pearl. Eric Clapton’s signature is inlaid in mother of pearl between the 19th and 20th frets. Each 000-28ECB will bear an interior label, individually numbered in sequence w/the edition total and personally signed by Eric Clapton and Martin Chairman and CEO C. F. Martin IV.  The 000-28ECB is tastefully appointed with a hand beveled and polished tortoise colored pickguard. Premium Waverly nickel-plated open-geared tuning machines are equipped w/vintage style “butterbean” knobs. The squared headstock bears Martin’s tasteful but elegant old-style decal logo. This example is truly unplayed & other than 1 perfectly repaired crackle on the top left back panel (see pics), this is truly near mint & comes w/all of its case candy w/an unsigned warranty registration form & many tags in its original black gator hard case.
