Now in Stock: Epiphone Frontier

Custom options/Upgrades/Remarks:

Gibson took over Epiphone in the 1950s and it is in amazing condition, exceptional in many ways. It's Epiphones version of the most luxurious Gibson Guitar at the time, the Dove version, and these are really amazing sounding guitars. Very rare too, this one is even more rare, since finding one in such a fine condition is like finding a needle in a Haystack. It features a solid spruce top with solid Flamed Maple back and sides, mahogany neck with bound rosewood fretboard with slotted block inlays, reverse belly rosewood bridge fixed saddle, 60s style tortoise pickguard with rope and cactus inlays, black peghead with pearl "Epiphone" logo and oval inlay, Cream top binding with multiple purfling and soundhole rosette, gold Kluson Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons, Square shoulder -dreadnought- style body, with 645mm (25.4") scale length and 43mm (1 11/16") width at the nut.

The combination of these specs provide the Frontier with that typical matured woody tone vintage Epiphone and Gibson acoustics are sought for, more specially by Recording engineers, who rate the matured rich rounded tone with it's beautiful refined shimmering highs and exceptional balance, as being among the best in a recording studio. Maple somehow adds refinement to the tone of the Frontier and especially matured maple brings out a tone in that is ultimo special, breathtakingly woody and intense as you would hope and expect from a 50+ year old guitar! This FT-110 Frontier will most certainly inspire anyone who plays it and experience that unique and typical character with a inspiring & intense woody voice that has the right mojo all over.

First released in 1962 this is one of the first, Like I stated before, the guitar is in exceptional condition, has already seen a neck-reset, the bridge changed to a fixed bridge to improve the tone, clean as a baby, no cracks no misuse some weather-checking you would expect from a Epiphone/Gibson but relatively little, that goes for the play-wear also, this is a 50 year old vintage dream-guitar, the guitar to have if you are committed player or collector, with a sunburst matured finish that gets more and more beautiful over the years. The action is low and comfortable and low, there is a bit of capo wear on the back of the neck, but also very little, some small dents and scratches, but all superficial. This 51 year old is simply exceptionally clean. The guitar has been professionally set-up by our shop and needs no attention. A very resonant and matured instrument with excellent projection en magical tone, With original case.

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
