Fender / Stratocaster / 1963 / BLACK / Guitar

1962/1963 Fender® Stratocaster® in black with rosewood fingerboard in overall good cosmetic condition, will come with non original hard case. This vintage Stratocaster® was assembled many years ago, featuring many early 1960s vintage Fender® parts, and has been together in this configuration for many years. One might consider 'parting this guitar out' - but this is such a good Strat® - such a great player - that leaving it as is - is definitely the right thing to do, so that the next player will benefit from its current state. Here are the details: 2 DEC 1963 (could be 1962, hard to read) stamped at the base of the neck - rosewood board, refretted with large frets years ago, repro Fender® sticker on headstock, single line Kluson tuners (some extra holes), early 60s authentic Fender® pick guard, more recent pots and 5 way switch, original bridge plate and saddles with more recent trem block, and more recent but vintage-looking knobs, authentic neck plate serial number L308XX with the name Dean Arno etched in the back. Pickups are as follows: bridge is a black bottom early 60s, neck is a black bottom early 60s, middle pickup is a grey bottom from 1974. These pickups sound EXCELLENT. The number 4 position is currently wired such that it has that nasally out of phase sound - These pickups are loud, warm, strong, have plenty of bite - and the neck and bridge positions offer that classic and great early 60s tone. The neck feels GREAT - a rounded type of carve - not too huge at all, very comfortable, and the larger frets really make this Strat® a killer player. The body looks to be an older aftermarket body - and there is quite a bit of wear through the finish, but the body feels and looks right. This Strat® has been featured on many albums and tours over the years - and has been a killer in both studio and live settings: wonderful chimey and atmospheric rhythm sounds, and wonderful and rich overdriven tones. Again, rather than take it apart - we choose to leave it as is because it offers such a unified and together vibe as an old Strat®. Lots of additional and more detailed photos are available - and feel free to call 859-261-5500 for an in hand description.Payment via bank wire transfer, US currency - shipping via UPS or USPS, buyer covers all shipping costs -  Thanks.
