Fender / Stratocaster / 1973 / Black / Guitar For Sale

Very Good condition, 7,5/10, Made in USA, including original hardcase with black tolex case changes to have no "tail" and a small "R" typical of cases from 1972 until the mid seventies, 2 string trees, maple neck, all original parts, has been refretted with larger frets and a new nut, a dent in the back of the neck, the back plate is in a zip-lock bag in the case and has a crack in one of the screw holes, no fret wear, the weight is 3,48kg / 7,65lbs, the neck is stamped 0903 3353 and here is a funny and little known detail that we have seen on numerous instruments and especially from the era 1973-1975; the day and year numbers are reversed as sometimes proven by original receipts but in this case proven by specs and dates of all the other parts for example the grey bottom pickups with untouched solder joints which are dated 1973 ( stamped 143873) and pots which are 1377249 (49th week of 1972, Made in Mexico and manufacturer 137=CTS which is typical for this era), so the code should be read 09 -stratocaster, 03 - fretted maple neck, 33 - week 33, 5 - day of the week and 3 - year which is 1973, the neck heel also have some stamped names from QC (the only readable is Frank Y), lots of checking in the black finish on the body, neck pocket with all the typical scribblings and stamps, square routes with worm rout (another piece of evidence that this is a 1973 model since the worm rout was removed in 1974 since the routes were deeper from this time), CRL1452 3-way switch with round white center wheel which is typical from 1973 and forwards
