Fender / Telecaster / 1952 / Blonde / Guitar For Sale
Now available, a fantastic playing and sounding late 1952 Fender 'Blackguard' Telecaster with a very old refinish over it's original ash body.
This example has been in Australia for about 10 years after being imported from an auction house in the UK according to the previous owner.
The guitar shows a fair amount of play wear, with the neck finish and decal remaining original despite some old clear nitro overspray which is hard to notice. The original body was stripped, not sanded when refinished so it still retains its edges unlike many old refinished telecasters. The original body date is present though hard to read (11-5-52), which is consistent with the neck date (TG 9-11-52).
Both pickups remain original with strong readings, at one point it seems a strat pickup was in the neck position looking at the route and pickup leads. The original serial number plate #4873 and 3 brass saddles remain, as does most of its original hardware minus the pickguard screws and low e tuner.
Other things to note are a quality reproduction pickguard, a conversion to standard tele wiring, and a vintage style refret from long ago. There is some play wear around the edges of the body, and some indentations on the base of the horn.
Overall a perfect players-grade original blackguard telecaster that retains the soul of these guitars. Includes a 60s Canadian Fender export case.
