Gibson / Angus Young SG ** ON HOLD ** / 2002 / Cherry Red / Guitar

Man, I remember the time when Ray and I had our brush with greatness. Do you recall when Gibson launched their aged Angus SG guitar, limited to a run of 50? When those guitars were going to get signed, Ray and I set them all up for Angus to sign and take pictures with. I know it sounds as if I am making this up, but really, we were there. All I know is, when it was time for Angus to sign the guitars, the door swung open and two dudes that would blot out the sun flanked him on each side. Being careful not to startle the herd, I stayed seated. My strategy was not to insight a riot; With me being 6'4"" and those dudes looking like they both had ingested a steroid milkshake and a baby calf for breakfast would most certainly rain death down upon Ray and I if we so much as flinched. After the area was secured, Angus sat down and played a few of his namesake guitars. Believe me, he plugged straight into a Marshall TSL-50 combo and guess what? He sounded like any album he's ever played on. Ray and I were delighted to see this iconic guitarist in such an intimate setting. It was so cool, Ray inadvertently knocked over a chair trying to get closer to the action. The reaction from the two behemoths were swift and decisive. All I know is, we got straight twisted up (imagine "Don't Mess With the Zohan" for a visual aid). Kicking and screaming, Ray and I were quickly shown the door. After the EMT's from the Fire Department untangled our legs from our torsos, we had to have a drink to easy the pain, but more importantly to reflect on our brush with a Rock-n-Roll immortal. ""All in a day's work, Ray exclaims, to witness history and to be beaten down like we stole something." Friends, that story has little to do with this guitar, but that little Devil on the headstock brings this memory to me. You see, I am quite sure that little Devil evokes a memory for you as well and if you need conformation on as to why you want this guitar, just think back. The Little Devil will find you too.."
