Gibson / Byrdland / 1968 / Sunburst / Guitar For Sale
Now available on consignment, a stunning example of an original 1968 Gibson Byrdland with a spruce top, and maple back and sides.
Developed by Hank Garland and Billy Byrd in 1955, this high-end jazz model features a 23.5" scale length, and a narrower neck at the 12th fret compared to a standard Gibson of the era.
This particular example though well played, remains in mostly original condition including its original frets and nut (worn but playable), and patent # pickups. The original tortoiseshell pickguard has disintegrated as is common for 60s Gibson guitars, it is included with the original bracket.
There is significant weather checking and play wear, as well as some cracks in the binding here and there that are stable. There is a strap button added to the neck heel as well.
Otherwise the guitar retains its original hardware including the abr1 bridge, strap button, Byrdland tailpiece, and Kluson Sealfast tuners. The original plastics all remain as well, and the guitar is free from any breaks or repairs.
Includes its original case in fair condition, hangtag, and original pickguard.
