Gibson / Country Western / 1956 / Guitar

Gibson Country Western 1956 - a cool Roundshoulder Vintage Dreadnought. A fabulous player with a great vintage sound!

In the year 1955 this successful model series was built for the first time. At that time still in the popular Roundshoulder form, which was then changed in the 60's. That's why the Country Western models from the 50's (like this one from 1956) are so popular and sought after.

David Gilmore, for example, plays exactly such a model!

Basically it is like the Gibson Hummingbird or Southern Jumbo - a guitar with spruce top, mahogany body and the corresponding Deluxe appointments. The ultimate guitar for cowboys, flatpickers and bluegrass players and those who want to become one.

This Gibson Country Western 1956 is a real gem (FON/Serial Number: V 780 19) with character in appearance and especially in sound. Here you get the ultimate vintage sound.
We personally like the sound of this Gibson because it has a very strong vintage touch. It feels like an old western movie.

It plays perfectly and is wonderfully adjusted. Flat action, straight neck and well preserved frets.

As you can see on the pictures there are some repaired cracks. After the repair the finish was polished up and refinished at one spot. The mechanics are vintage, but not original.

The guitar comes with a matching hard shell case!

Vintage Guitar World was founded out of a deep passion for guitar playing and the lifelong search for truly special sound. For us, selling guitars is far more than a profession – it is a way of life. We love guitars, live music, and the stories that great instruments carry with them.

We specialize in classical guitars, flamenco guitars, and acoustic steel-string guitars. As our name suggests, our main focus is on vintage and historically significant instruments, but we also offer outstanding modern guitars by exceptional makers. Our goal is always the same: to present our customers with unique, high-quality guitars that stand out clearly in tone, character, and craftsmanship.

Every guitar we offer is carefully selected for its sound and musical qualities. No instrument enters our shop by chance. We believe that a great guitar must inspire the player from the very first note, whether it is a rare vintage piece or a modern handmade instrument.

Before any guitar is offered for sale, it is thoroughly checked and professionally adjusted. We work closely with experienced guitar builders and specialized repair shops to ensure that each instrument is structurally sound, optimally set up, and ready to be played at its full potential. Transparency and trust are essential to us, and we always describe instruments honestly and in detail.
