Gibson / Custom L 5 / 1988 / Sunburst / Guitar
The order for this custom L 5 was placed about thirty years ago. A separate label, visible on the other bout through the f-hole, states the exact date of release and the work was carried out and signed by James Hutchins. One-owner, a dream-come-true guitar that was very well loved and played. The only wear actually shows on the treble side of the gold covered pick-ups, but the case tells you this beauty went to clubs and gigs. I don't know if Custom Shop was already operating back then, but I am inclined to believe people like Hutchins or Triggs were trying their best ( and actually getting their hands dirty ) to make Gibson successful again. Now they are famous and you don't discuss a success. This will only get clearer in the future.
