Gibson / ES-330 TDN / 1968 / Blonde / Guitar

An incredible find and the first of its kind we’ve ever seen, this blonde Gibson ES-330 TDN all the way from 1968 truly is a showstopper.

A finish seen more regularly on guitars nearly a decade older, this ES-330 looks resplendent in its blonde hue set off by its chrome hardware. Its condition tells of an easy life, cared for in a way befitting its status. Front and back are in fantastic condition as is the neck, 3 piece construction more commonly seen on an ES-340. These elements make for a very stylish and unique but not over the top package.

Acoustically, as with all ES330’s, this guitar has a bell-like tone that translates nicely when amplified. The original P90s providing the perfect tonal foil and bring out the airy quality of this fantastic instrument. Its here within the electronics that we find the only change made to this guitar with the replacement of one of the volume pots.

The slim taper neck, typical of this period, feels very comfortable and easy to play. Fretboard and frets are in great shape, there is the expected wear to the lower frets but there are plenty more miles left. The fretboard itself is free of any rutting. This being a late 60s model, the neck joint is at the 19th fret facilitating better access to the upper frets. All in all this makes for a very pleasing guitar to while away a few hours.

Included with it is a Gibson ES-330 case from couple of years later.

We can’t state enough how rare a find this guitar is. We have never seen on from this late on in the 60s. Much more than a show piece, this guitar plays as good as it looks. We might never see one again! Grab it while you still can
