Gibson ES-345TD (1960) – Cherry

Offered as an early 1960 example from Gibson, this ES-345TD was built in Kalamazoo during a key transitional period, confirmed by serial and potentiometer codes (wk27/1960).

Fitted with original PAF humbuckers, it delivers a rich and detailed tonal response, with clarity, warmth, and strong dynamic range. The slimmer neck profile introduced during this period enhances playability, while original features such as reflector knobs and M69 pickup rings remain intact.

The instrument has undergone careful and sympathetic restoration. The Varitone circuitry has been reinstated using original vintage components, the wiring harness has been serviced with period-correct materials, and late-’50s Kluson single-line tuners have been fitted. Minor lacquer touch-ups were carried out conservatively to preserve the original patina. The guitar has been configured for mono use, optimising the performance of both PAF pickups.

Originally equipped with a Bigsby, it was converted to a stop bar tailpiece earlier in its life. Additional past modifications have been addressed as part of the restoration, resulting in a well-balanced and highly playable instrument.

Constructed with a mahogany neck, laminated maple body, and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, it is supplied with a period-correct original 1960 case.

A well-documented and thoughtfully restored ES-345, offering early PAF tone, vintage character, and practical usability.
