Comments:
The original Flying V debuted in 1958 but was ahead of its time and initially unsuccessful. It found its footing in the 1980s when the design was streamlined. This '80s Flying V Reissue specifically pays tribute to the highly sought-after 1984 models, which removed the pickguard for a sleeker, more "aggressive" look. It is equipped with 80s Tribute humbuckers, which are voiced to replicate the high-output "Dirty Fingers" style pickups common in that decade. The Classic White finish is designed to age over time, potentially yellowing into a "cream" or "vintage white" hue similar to original vintage examples. The "Demo" engraving on the back of the headstock indicates that the instrument was sold through the Gibson Demo Shop. These instruments are often former floor models, trade show displays, or units with minor cosmetic blemishes discovered during quality control. Despite the stamp, these guitars undergo a 35-point inspection by a specialized team of luthiers in Nashville to ensure they meet high playability standards.
