Gibson / J-45 / 1946 / Amberburst / Guitar

Description: This is a beautiful example of a mid-40s J-45 with a beefy mid-40s neck (but nowhere near as big as our '39 J-35!). Necks on Gibson guitars began to taper during the late 1940s, so if you like a bigger profile this should be just right.  We also had to re-glue various braces (standard on most Gibsons of this period), re-glue the bridge, and fix a center seam separation on the top. We also installed a new bone saddle, repaired a single back crack, and replaced three tuner buttons. Now that this guitar has been properly repaired it is an incredibly nice piece! The finish is in beautiful shape with what I would consider minimal play wear. If you want a big Gibson neck AND the convenience of a truss rod, this just might be the one!
