Gibson / L12P Archtop Cutaway Sunburst / 1948 / Guitar

Gibson's L-12 fell in between its high end L-5 and less higher end L7 in its line up. The L-12 was made without a cutaway since 1947, while the cutaway version of the L-5 (L-5P or Premiere) was made until 1939. The L-12P from 1948 has a 17 inch body, with a carved spruce top that features parallel bracing. Gibson's L-5 is regarded as one of the most iconic jazz guitars ever made, and this L-12 is most certainly in that same league. It is a fantastic example and has excellent playability and an intruiging voice. There are some minor differences, including a rosewood fingerboard and a flat plate tailpiece. Other appointments include original Kluson open gear tuners, non-original pickguard and DeArmond floating Guitar Mic Pickup.   This Gibson is in good condition. This guitar is 70 years old and has seen some usage throughout these years. There is playwear, dings, scuff marks, traces of use across top, back and sides. The top has a repaired centerseam split. The back has a repaired crack on the lower bout, treble side. There have been two strap buttons installed which are filled. The neck is very clean and has a few lacquer dings. The frets are still original and have light wear. The whole body features craquele which gives this vintage instrument a beautiful and remarkable look. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
