Gibson / Les Paul Custom / 1974 / Alpine White (faded Cream) / Guitar For Sale
Attention Randy Rhoads and Dave Grohl enthusiasts!! Alpine White is a color that when combined with an earlier 70s mahogany neck becomes a very desirable combination for a number of reasons. 1st is that the color was only available with a mahogany neck for a little over a year 1974 and into 1975 while transitioning to maple necks. 2nd is that for guys who are fans of Randy Rhoads it is his most identifiable guitar. 3rd is it just looks so cool!! The yellowing is gorgeous!! This guitar is 100% original down to the solder joints and when you tap on that mahogany neck the whole guitar comes alive and vibrates like a cheap date. Bares a serial # in the earlier part of the 400,000s (415XXX) and the pick ups are patent # with all solder joints being factory There is little wear on the guitar but if you look at the back there is a tiny bit of rash but only through the lacquer but The color is still there. A small finish crack (about an inch) at the strap peg on the shoulder. The pots are oxidized on the outside but i can read a 7 and what appears to be a 4 afterward. By 1975 a large % of their guitars had now gone to a decal #. This bares the earlier stamp. The tuners are the original Grover roto-matics with Gibson/Kluson style handles. My scale is acting weird but this monster weighs in at either 9 lbs 15 oz's or 10 even. Comes with the original early 70s Black case with purple lining. All instruments are displayed on other vintage websites.
