Gibson / Les Paul Junior Sunburst / 1957 / Guitar

They become rarer by the day and more loved by the hour. There is something very special and iconic about an original Les Paul and this 'Special' is no exception. This sunburst single cut Les Paul Special comes from 1957, which is generally regarded as the most desirable year, because of the medium neck profile which plays very comfortably, and the fact that by 1957 the bridge posts on the single cut Les Paul junior have been moved to prevent them from leaning forward. This guitar is in a very good original condition and is suitable for collectors, players or both. The fretboard has recently been provided with new, larger frets, which significantly improves playability and ensures that this Les Paul can be played for years. There is no fretwear, no buzz or dead spots and the neck plays like a dream.  The Junior is known for its raw and growling sound that can only be produced by a mahogany solidbody guitar in combination with a P90. Although the intonation of a Les Paul Junior was never its strong point, mostly due to its wraparound bridge, this Junior features a Faber wraparound bridge, where all saddles are individually intonable (as with a tune-o-matic), which works perfectly and has been set up with absolute precision. The Faber bridge has been aged, which blends in effortlessly with this 61-year-old vintage instrument. The original bridge and posts are delivered with the guitar and can be changed at any time. This Junior contains its original P90 pickup, pots and soldering, that work smoothly and very well after all these years. The Dog-Ear P90 pickup has an output of 8.2 kOhm, which is the sweet spot for creating a dynamic single coil pickup, which also gives enough signal to overdrive an amplifier with ease. The original volume knob has a small break in the bevel. It is usable, but the guitar currently uses a reflector button from the early 60's. It makes for more comfortable use of the volume control and gives the guitar a unique identity, similar to the famous Peter Green / Gary Moore '59 Les Paul. The original knob is included in the cover. The sunburst finish is beautiful and intact, of course with typical weather checking. The original Kluson tuners are present and have never been changed. Of course Tone-pros or Kluson replica tuners might be a good idea to complete the hardware upgrades without compromising the originality of the guitar. It comes with a non-original, modern Gibson Les Paul case. Consignment. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
