This extremly rare Gibson Les Paul Spotlight Special is one of the coolest guitars Gibson ever built. Only 211 Spotlights were built in the early days of the Gison Custom Shop in 1983.
Beautiful maple top with walnut centerline, Tim Shaw Zebra humbucker. The guitar shows only some light signs of use and is completly original.

Diese extrem seltene Gibson Les Paul Spotlight Special stammt aus einer kleinen, nur 211 Exemplare umfassenden Serie, die 1983 im noch jungen Gibson Custom Shop hergestellt wurde. Markantestes Merkmal dieser Serie ist der ungefähr 5cm breite Walnuss-Streifen in der Mitte eines Quilted oder Figured Maple Tops.
Von den übrigen Spezifikationen war die Spotlight Special eher eine Reminiszenz der Les Paul Modelle der späten 1950er Jahre. Die bis dahin verwendete Volute ist bei diesem Modell nicht mehr zu finden, der Korpus ist wieder einteilig, das Binding folgt im Cutaway wieder der Decke und mit den verwendeten Tim Shaw Humbuckern wurden auch wieder hervorragende Pickups verbaut. Bei diesen wurden lediglich die Kappen entfernt, was man dem einzigen Vorbesitzer auch nicht übel nehmen kann. Die beiden Humbucker im Zebra-Look sehen einfach klasse aus.
Erhältlich war die Spotlight Special in Antique Sunburst (ASB) mit einer Quilted Maple Decke oder wie bei diesem Exemplar ein Antique Natural (ANT) mit einer Figured Maple Decke.
Der Zustand der Gibson ist für ihre mittlerweile 30 Jahre sehr gut. Zudem ist sie bis auf die entfernten Pickupkappen unmodifiziert und 100% original. Ansonsten lassen sich einige leichte Macken und Kratzer finden. So zum Beispiel an der Kopfplattenspitze oder im Bereich des Korpusbinding, wo der leicht ins gelblich gefadete Lack an zwei Stellen abgeplatzt ist. Die Bünde zeigen nur leichte Gebrauchsspuren in unteren Lagen und die Saitenlage ist angenehm niedrig.
Im Lieferumfang ist der originale Gibson -Protector-Koffer enthalten. Dieser befindet sich ebenfalls in sehr gutem Zustand.
