Gibson / Ripper / 1974 / Maple / Bass For Sale
Up for sale is a beautiful Gibson Ripper Bass which was allegedly owned by legendary bass player Arvell Shaw, long-time bassist of Louis Armstrong.
The bass was previously owned by a private collector in the UK with very good reputation who purchased the bass back in 2008. The reason why I mention "allegedly" is because as of now we are unable to find any evidence (e.g. pictures or references online of Arvell playing the bass), however we have started to make enquiries to confirm this.
However, this is an all original 74 Ripper bass, in good condition with the added bonus of having an interesting story. Comes with the original Gibson Hardshell case and some Arvell Shaw memorabilia.
