Lowden / F50 African Blackwood - Redwood Bevel Mint / 2017 / Guitar

The 50 series can be regarded as the Lowden Custom Shop. This is where dreams come true as you have a wide range of exquisite mastergrade tonewoods and custom options at your disposal. These Master Grade tone woods are handpicked for their exceptional tonal and visual qualities. This nice and minty 2018 F50 combines mastergrade African Blackwood back and sides with a mastergrade Redwood  top. African blackwood is a strikingly different looking rosewood in that it is mostly black in color and often shows beautiful sapwood when used on a bookmatched back. Often times African Blackwood is compared to the coveted Brazilian Rosewood, but we would go further and argue that African Blackwood bests Brazilian in some cases. It does not have quite the same deepness in sound as Brazilian but is more stable, tight, well-defined and sparkling with heaps of volume and clarity. Redwood is a tonally superior wood from the coastal mountains of Northern California and has truly come into its own as legitimate tonewoods the past couple of years. It is richer in color than cedar and more rubust, brighter, clear and warm in sound with excellent projection. It works great when fingerpicked and compresses nicely when strummed more like Sitka spruce. The F-model offers the most balanced sound of all Lowden body shapes, a perfect match for the signature Lowden complex, rich and piano-like character.  Also in it's appearance this is a thouroughly convincing instrument, custom additions include an ebony armrest bevel which makes the instrument supremely comfortable to hold. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
