Martin / 0028 12 Fret / 1930 / Guitar For Sale

We regularly welcome beautiful vintage guitars at The Fellowship of Acoustics, but they are certainly not always as beautiful and rare as this Martin 0028 from 1930! The guitar was built in 1930 in Martin's workshop in Nazareth, and in body size falls exactly between 0 and 000. This 0028 12-fret represents the last generation of guitars based on the 19th century style, as a precursor to the modern 14-fret fret variants such as the OM28 that appeared on the scene in 1929. The Brazilian rosewood back and sides and Adirondack spruce top represent the 28 style in which this Martin is built. This style was first used in 1870, and in 1898 the 0028 was introduced. The guitar also has a V-shaped mahogany neck with an unbound fingerboard, and a slotted headstock that is decorated with a rosewood headstock. The top is decorated with an ivoroid binding with herringbone purfling and a tortoise pickguard. The sound of the guitar cannot be described in any other way than fascinating; the guitar has a very full and deep sound in which both the prominent bass and a crystal clear high end come to the fore, a sound that will take any fingerstyle part to a higher level. Don't forget to listen to the beautiful demo by our Fellow Berend for the best possible impression of this inspiring sound! This Martin 0028 has been treated with love by its owners over the past 94 years, as the guitar is currently in excellent condition. The playwear and crackle give the guitar the style and charm that you can only find in a vintage Martin, and make the guitar an irresistible attention magnet that the enthusiast cannot keep his hands off. The guitar has a repaired crack on the side of the body, and the guitar has replaced bridge pins and a new bridge saddle. The original pickguard and tuners are still present in all their glory, and take the appearance of the guitar to an even higher level. With its irresistibly beautiful sound and optimal playability, this Martin 0028 is ready for a new musical adventure! Consignment.

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
