Santa Cruz / Tony Rice PRO / 1995 / Guitar

CONSIGNED, trade not possible. Price is fixed and low given the near mint condition. Tony Rice is known to be the a famous Bluegrass guitar player. His style is influenced by for instant John Coltrane and Clarence White, demanding a guitar that is most of all balanced, Tony owns a legendary guitar previously owned by Clarence White. A 1935 Martin D28, a very typical instrument, with enlarged soundhole that offers the balance Tony needed. It has the bass presence of the old D-28, but due to the larger soundhole an increased midrange and treble response, a-typical for the old pre-war D28, and exactly what Tony needed to produce that substantial, balanced and sophisticated tone. Richard Hoover from SCGC and Tony Rice collaborated many years in producing what is known to be one of the finest contemporary Bluegrass guitars, of which only a handful made it to Europe.  The Tony Rice Professional is the Epitome of the Standard Tony Rice model, features the typical light build Santa Cruz is known for, European Spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back/sides (with CITES Passport) modified scalloped bracing, 6451mm, 4-1/4" enlarged soundhole, and slightly thinner body depth (about 1/4" thinner than a Martin D-28) Ivoroid bound body and ebony fingerboard and peghead, ebony bridge,  Single-piece mahogany neck with a vintage soft V profile, style 28 headstock volute, and 42.8mm or 1-11/16" nut. The Tony Rice Professional Model has been further refined to offer the same specifications as used on Mr. Rice’s personal guitar. Old growth Brazilian Rosewood of the quality seen in the best vintage instruments and European Spruce chosen from master stock from the Italian/Swiss border are the materials of choice. To enhance the playability, a shorter (25.25 inch) scale and Tony’s slim neck profile provide fast and effortless action. The heirloom tone woods and intelligent design make this instrument the quintessential contemporary bluegrass dreadnought. In Tony’s own words, “This is a guitar you can go to war with.” This 1995 guitar is used, but very clean Near MINT condition. with Original case. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
