Here is a seriously unusual piece of fine English luthiery, clearly made by an uncommon intelligence and one with a highly tasteful sense of design.

The story goes that she was made by a gentleman known as 'John The Hippie' who was said to have made instruments for english band The Levellers.

∞ Solid sitka spruce top

∞ Maccasar ebony fretboard and bridge

∞ Solid rosewood (possibly Brazilian) back and sides

This is easily a three grand guitar to have your luthier build today.

Repairs/tech notes

Extensive weathering of finish

Finish on neck has been polished smooth and worn by honest use, this is not a repair

4" side crack (historic repair)

One finger brace re-secured (historic repair)

Interior construction is lightly built yielding a superb tone

Interesting and unusual decorative joinery

Plays well with a medium action, set at the lowest current limit of adjustment typical of a circa 42 year old acoustic guitar.

We are pricing this piece at around half the average cost of a modern UK made build to these specs.

Obviously the guitar has mellowed and aged spectacularly and no attempt has been made to disguise or remove any wear or patina.

This kind of weathering is only seen on higher end guitars with a lightly applied thin nitro finish.

Supplied in the original hard case which is free of charge and not considered part of the sale as has seen plenty of action!

Professionally packaged for international travel, two day express worldwide shipping free.

Don't hestitate with any questions.

Best regards
