Zerberus / Nemesis / 2017 / Burned Caramel / Guitar For Sale
Now hold your hat!
What you see here is a hand crafted 7-string Lefthanded Nemesis model special edition "HERCULES".
I have built this unique specimen for a customer in the USA completely by hand.
No CNC machine touched that baby and I even painted the guitar by hand using a hand brush.
It was a luthiers bet that I definitely have won.
IT IS POSSIBLE to apply clear coat with a (really good) hand brush and achive that kind of gloss. :)
Of course I have a few air brush guns but that was a challenge.
Why do I offer it on Reverb as it is a custom order?
The customer who ordered that beast did not respond on any of my mails and I didn´t hear from him for more than 6 months.
I really hope he is doing fine.
But I will not hold this beauty for him now anymore.
Rhaz - if you see that - this should be your guitar!
When it is gone - it is gone! Sorry Bro!
Neck: 3 layers of Purple Heart / 2 layers of Padouk (Coral-lumber) and between thin layers of flamed Maple as pinstripes.
The neck has one dual action stainless steel thrus rod. (only the best is good enough)
Fretboard: It has a Padouk fretboard with 24 medium jumbo frets.
Rhaz wanted stainless steel frets and so the Hercules got 24 stainless steel frets.
Perfectly dressed. leveled and rounded.
Scale is 25.5"
Radius is 14"
The neck has illuminated side dots that can be switched Red / Blue or off.
Great to have on a dark stage :)
The sied dots are lit by one single LED inside the neck pickup cavity. If that LED dies, you simply can insert a new one into the port and everything is fine. That LED costs a few Cent.
The body is made of two pieces perfectly seasoned Mahogany and the top is made of Australian Eucalyptus lumber with an incredible checker-flame.
All hand carved with hand-held plunge router....scraping blades....angle grinders....hand sanders.....and tons of sanding paper :)
None of the wood I have used is under CITES protection. These days, this is very important.
The inlays are made of Abalone and I have laid in the name "HERCULES" at fret 24.
Rhaz has Greek roots and so he wanted to have some kind of Greek touch with the inlays and the name :)
Tuners: I have used Ratio Locking tuners by Graph Tech.
Amazing hardware....precise, cool and reliable...surely one of the best on market.
Mono Rail individual bridges with string thru.
Pickups: Alumitone Deathbuckers by Lace USA.
Those pickups are simply awesome !!!! Each humbucker can be split into a single coil using the master-volume for the neck and the master-tone for the bridge humbucker. And this is where the Alumitones strike - NO HUM !!!! That makes the Nemesis "Hercules" so unbelievable versatile.
I have exhibited the Hercules at the Holy Grail Guitar Show in Berlin last Year.
At this time it still was "Rhaz´s Hercules" but now after more than 6 months, that masterpiece is free for sale.
I will ship the Nemesis "Hercules" inside a Zerberus hard case with certificate and inside an overseas cardboard box by UPS.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
My name is Frank and if you call or mail, its always me...on the phone.....at the computer...in the workshop....and so on... Yeah - Zerberus-Guitars is not a big anonymous industrial company - it is a one man workshop :)
I have attached a lot of pictures and some of them show some of the work that I put into that masterpiece.
Very glad to be able to offer a lefty :)
Zerberus Guitars, Germany
All custom guitars are completely made by only one luthier - ME.
Zerberus-Guitars is some kind of a One-Man-Show and it´s only me in the workshop.
I do all the works - drive arround to find amazing long time stored lumber - saw out the bodies and necks -shape that all by hand without using CNC machines - equipp the hardware - install the electronis - paint the guitars and so on......I also take the photos and make the website.
No step of my work is done by someone else.
That makes the guitars very unique.
Building such a handmade unique specimen takes at least 6 months.
For making my custom guitars, I don´t use computer controled CNC-machines.
I do all the routings and carvings by hand and so I am not restricted to any standard designs.
I come from a very musical family.
My grandfather played trumpet in a band and my father is a professional rock´n roll guitarist in my region.
On the other hand my ancestors have been very skilled craftsmen who worked as makers of wood cartweels (Grand-grandfather) and wood barrels (Grandfather).
My father does not have a hand for woodworking :)
But he is a lifetime Rock guitarist.
So in my person the two rows come together being a rock guitarist that also loves woodworking :)
I have inherited some woodworking tools from my grand-grandfather that I still use when building my handcrafted custom guitars.
When I was 14, I have built my first guitar with the help of an old luthier.
Later in 1992 I had my own design company and I specialised in guitar design (have played in several bands this time).
Later in 2002 I founded my very own guitar company Zerberus-Guitars and fullfiled one of my biggest childhood dreams with that.
Is it your dream to own an instrument that is the only one of its kind on the planet, as individual as you - the owner, an instrument that is lovingly handcrafted, using selected timbers and the finest hardware, to satisfy your very own aesthetics, needs and personal preferences?
In my Custom Shop, I specialize in carefully hand-building the kinds of guitars and basses that reflect the DNA of their players. I do not employ CNC-machines which mechanically churn out half-finished guitar bodies every few minutes. By contrast, all carving, assembly and finishing is performed by one skilled craftsman, so that my guitars can not be clones of any models made previously.
Each instrument leaving my Custom Shop is a unique specimen. And not being restricted to proprietary designs, I am able to develop very individual guitars and basses in response to the originality and inspiration of our clients.
