Fender / Jazzmaster / 1959 / Blonde / Guitar

We thought this one had got away! We sold this beauty over a year ago to a happy customer who has now consigned it back to us as he needs some money to buy a house... Although we may question his sense of priorities, we are more than happy to take this back in and offer it once again on the open marketplace.

If you are seeking a 50's custom colour Jazzmaster you are going to have a pretty tough time finding one, that is for sure. They are just as rare as 50's custom colour Strats and a LOT harder to find that the occasional 60's custom colour JM's you come across...

Here is a pretty rare beast. It is 100% original in every way, a 1959 Fender Jazzmaster, factory finished in see through blonde, on a lovely ash body. Not a thing has been changed on this superb Jazzmaster since it left the Fullerton factory in the middle of 1959 and it's not often you can say that!

Yes, original finish, no touch ups, original hardware, original frets, original electrics and totally un-disturbed solder joints. It comes with the original brown Tolex case with the centre latch under the handle and the yellow lining.

There are no issues with the playability, all the electrics work and do what they should, including the fiddly switches and thumb wheels. It has had flat would strings on for most of it's playing life so the original frets are in good shape too. It does not need a refret.

Condition wise, it has been played as you can see, there are various dings all over, some wear on the back of th neck etc. The pickguard has one of the tips broken off and has a crack by the bridge pickup but is still intact overall and perfectly usable. Both pickups are lovely, strong, classic Fender black bottoms chime machines with original Formvar windings.

Both pots date to 37th week of 1959, as to be expected in mid '59 there is no neck date and serial number places it bang in 1959. Pat Pend trem and no pat numbers on headstock etc etc...

We had an awful lot of interest last time we advertised this rare bird so if you think you may like the look of this I wouldn't hesitate to get in touch.

Surf away Dude...
