Production started around a decade after Orville Gibson had invented the arched top guitar. In common with the other L guitars of the time the L-3 was available in different body sizes, ranging from 12.5 to 16 inches wide. Initially the sound hole was round but this was changed to an oval soundhole from 1928 to 1933. Customers outside of the European Union can deduct 20% (V.A.T.) from the price.
