Gibson / ES-125 TC / 1960 / Sunburst / Guitar For Sale
Here's a great example of a model you don't see too often - a 1960 Gibson ES-125 TC, the Florentine cutaway, single P-90 version of Gibson's classic student archtop. This one's in clean, well-preserved condition, with a few minor changes that make it an excellent palyer without compromising its vintage integrity.
The tuners have been swapped for repros, it's had a refret and a new nut, but that's where the changes end - everything else is original, including the electrics, pickup and hardware. The neck has that chunkier late-'50s feel, rather than the slimmer 1960 carve, which makes it especially comfortable to play, and solid in the hand.
Tonally, the single dogear P-90 sounds superb - rich, rounded and warm with that signature P-90 midrange. It's a guitar that really responds to your touch: dig in and it'll bark, back off and you'll get sweet, woody jazz tones with ease. It's this dynamic range and percussive attack that makes this guitar such a rewarding instrument, especially for roots, jazz, blues, and good old rock & roll.
For a guitar that was originally pitched as a more affordable option, there's nothing low tier about the materials or craftsmanship. Built in Gibson's golden era, this ES-125TC has everything you'd expect: great tonewoods, attention to detail, and bags of character. A ton of vintage mojo and sound for the money!
