Gibson / F25 Folksinger 50mm Nut Width / 1968 / Guitar

Gibson F25 Folksinger from 1968. Made between 1963 and 1971 this striking model was, as the name already implies, designed to attract folk players in the early '60s. While the B-series of acoustic guitars replaced the LG series in the early to mid-1960s, Gibson introduced this unique model which featured a 00-sized classical body shape, non-compensated adjustable saddle and a wide neck with flat radius rosewood fingerboard. At some point this guitar was converted from the original Adjustable bridge to a fixed bone bridge  with the Adjustable slot filled almost invisibly. This stunning little guitar is very comfortable to play thanks to the wide neck,  while the combination of solid Mahogany and X-braced spruce supplies you with an impressive sustain and warm, vintage and robust tonal character. Usually these F25s are very recognisable thanks to the dual white pickguard protecting the finish. For a short while however, in 1968, they made the F25 without any pickguard. The pickguard as seen on this guitar is a very recent addition. This vintage guitar is in Very Good condition; A very clean vintage specimen with newer frets, expected signs of use and beautiful weather checking in the finish. The instrument does have an input jack but no pickup has currently been installed. Includes vintage case.     Specifications: Body Shape: F25 Finish: Natural Body Material: Solid Mahogany Top Material: Solid Spruce Lefty No Body Details: Creme binding, multi-stripe rosette & single white pickguard (very recent, non original) Neck Material: Mahogany Neck Profile: flat D-shape Fingerboard Material: Rosewood Fingerboard Radius: Flat Neck Details: Pearloid 'Dot' inlay and Gibson logo headstock inlay Nutwidth: 50 mm - 2" Scale Length: 628 mm - 24 3/4" String spacing: 57 mm - 2 1/4" Bridge: Rosewood Tuners: Replacement 3-on-a-plate Pickup None Condition: Very Good Cosmetic Condition: A very clean vintage specimen with expected signs of use and beautiful weather checking in the finish   Modifications/ Repairs: Refret newer tuners Pickup removed (endpin jack remains) Tech Notes: None Travels in: Non-original Vintage case Accessories: None

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
