The Hummingbird Faded is a modern iteration of Gibson's iconic square-shouldered dreadnought, designed to offer a more vintage-inspired feel and price point by using a thinner satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish. It retains the signature large hand-painted hummingbird and butterfly pickguard that defines the series. The "Faded" satin finish is often preferred by players who believe a thinner lacquer allows the wood to "breathe" more freely, resulting in a more open, resonant, and "woody" sound compared to thick gloss finishes. It comes factory-equipped with an LR Baggs VTC undersaddle pickup system, which includes volume and tone controls discreetly mounted in the soundhole for live performance without invasive body modifications. The "Demo" engraving on the back of the headstock indicates the guitar was destined for artist demonstration / promotional purposes.
