Gibson / J45 Sunburst Restored / 1952 / Guitar

This Gibson J45 form 1952 has just left our repair-shop after being completely restored by our in-house luthier Adrien Farmer. What we have here is basically a brand new guitar but with all the impressive sound characteristics that vintage J45's are known for, rightfully so, famed and appreciated for. The mahogany of this instrument has matured over the years and produces a fundamental and pleasing warm sound, while the well developed Adirondack spruce soundboard adds punch and clear, thick highs, giving it a dynamic and overal incredible tonal character.  This nearly 70 year old guitar obviously sound great, but moreover it has an incredibly pleasing playability, which makes it stand out from other vintage J45 that passed through the shop. Amongst the restoration tasks that are performed by Adrien are a couple of replaced back braces and back centre strip, one repaired crack in the top, a replaced bridge and bridge plate and pickguard, a neckreset and some patches on the lower bout of the top, made from torrified sitka spruce to make it blend in with the old matured wood. Lastly, it has a newer frets, nut and saddle -ensuring that great playability- and an outstanding aged sunburst refinish performed by Atkin guitars.  All this makes such a pleasing whole, it's hard to lay her down, and if you are looking for a vintage guitar with the authentic tone and feel that can be played worrilessly for many more years yet to come then this might be very interesting to you. I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
