Gibson / L-4 / 1932 / Sunburst / Guitar

Gibson L-4 1932 - rare archtop guitar, with cool vintage sound!

This is a stunningly clean example from the last years of production before the transition from round soundhole to f-holes! This Gibson L-4 1932 is a curious representation of a time of change. Sharing both features of what would become the standard for flattop acoustic guitars as we now know them (14th fret neck join, a round soundhole) and more traditional archtop guitar features such as, well, the carved solid Spruce top and the floating fingerboard extension over the body.

This one is 100% original excepting the pickguard, which which is period correct. It has a small crack on the top, which has been repaired. Other than that, there are just a few minor dings/checks to the finish as shown in the pictures - superb condition for an instrument approaching 100 years old.

It sounds amazing as well - loud and articulate!

This Gibson L-4 1932 comes with the original case.

Vintage Guitar World was founded out of a deep passion for guitar playing and the lifelong search for truly special sound. For us, selling guitars is far more than a profession – it is a way of life. We love guitars, live music, and the stories that great instruments carry with them.

We specialize in classical guitars, flamenco guitars, and acoustic steel-string guitars. As our name suggests, our main focus is on vintage and historically significant instruments, but we also offer outstanding modern guitars by exceptional makers. Our goal is always the same: to present our customers with unique, high-quality guitars that stand out clearly in tone, character, and craftsmanship.

Every guitar we offer is carefully selected for its sound and musical qualities. No instrument enters our shop by chance. We believe that a great guitar must inspire the player from the very first note, whether it is a rare vintage piece or a modern handmade instrument.

Before any guitar is offered for sale, it is thoroughly checked and professionally adjusted. We work closely with experienced guitar builders and specialized repair shops to ensure that each instrument is structurally sound, optimally set up, and ready to be played at its full potential. Transparency and trust are essential to us, and we always describe instruments honestly and in detail.
