Gibson / L0 Sunburst / 1937 / Guitar For Sale

The Gibson L0 was part of the Gibson catalog from 1926 to 1942, but disappeared for several years from 1933 to 1937, only to return in 1937. The L0 initially distinguished itself from the less expensive L00 by its double binding, but because the L00 was also equipped with these specifications from 1937 onward, these models are sometimes difficult to distinguish. The Gibsons from the 1930s have an unparalleled tone that has beautifully developed a woody and dry character over the years. The model is characterized by its compact body with a narrow waist and wide bottom half, which contributes to a surprisingly full and clear sound despite its modest size. Despite its small size, it also has considerable volume, and the full and clear tone lends itself to both fingerstyle and light strumming. The wide neck with a thick C-profile also makes the guitar play wonderfully. This 1937 Gibson has had a turbulent life, but thanks to various repairs, it remains in excellent playable condition. Several cracks on the top have been repaired, and to stabilize them, several cleats have been glued in on the inside of the body. The back has also undergone some repairs, and the binding and neck wood are noticeably somewhat rough around the heel, likely the result of a neck reset. On the side of the body, gaps have developed between the binding and the wood in several places, and small pieces of wood have been inserted in some places to fill these gaps. A refret has also been performed, and the guitar continues to live with replaced tuners, a new nut, and a new bridge saddle. It can also be seen that the guitar once had a pickup, but this was later removed. The guitar still has its original finish with crackle and playwear that give vintage Gibsons their beloved vintage look; unmatched by any modern replica!

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
