Totally breathtaking, near MINT, first year of production in this spec, Gibson Les Paul Standard with original hard case and original instruction booklet. I doubt if you will find a finer example anywhere and it looks barely a year old let alone 43.

Who would have thought when they discontinued this classic shape Les Paul Standard in 1960 it would not be until 1974, 14 years later, it would be re-introduced. Yes, they had Les Paul Standards from 1968 but these were based on the 1956 version with P-90's It was not until 6 years after that they finally, gave in and re-introduced the full humbucker spec Les Paul.

Rare to see these first year Standards and even rarer to see them in this mighty clean condition. It is one of the first batch made with the small engraved 'Standard' on the truss rod cover, pots date to 30th week of 1974 and needless to say, everything is 100% original in every way.

Just have a look at the dazzling photos of this beauty. There are just a few of small marks that keep me from describing it as totally MINT but these are very minor and do not detract from the breathtaking beauty of this thing in any way.

Original case is just as clean on the inside and pretty good shape on the outside but does have a few handling marks. All latches work perfectly and even the case pocket lid ribbon is intact (which is rare).

Included is the original 1974 instruction booklet which will tell you how to tune your new Gibson and other such useful essentials. There is also an envelope that contains the original case key.

It has pretty much zero wear on the original frets and plays real well with a nice low action and two perfectly matched humbuckers. Neck is the classic, well loved mahogany neck and weight is bang on 4.1Kg

A collectors grade example from the first year of production is always a good investment and I have no doubt that this stellar piece will be no exception and I have a feeling that this is not going to hang around very long...
