Vicente Tatay was a guitar maker in Valencia. He established his workshop in 1889. It was like most workshops of the era with the father teaching and supervising his sons so that some day they could take over the family business.
Vicente Tatay retired in 1942, and the firm was taken over by his sons José and Vicente Tatay Tomás who formed a company Hijos de Vicente Tatay.

This is an entirely handbuilt guitar by José Tatay Tomás. To built this beautiful guitar he used the best materials and added the most beautiful inlay works you can imagine.
This guitar is absolutely a master built guitar and has nothing to do with the factory guitars built under the label Hijos de Vicente Tatay some years later.

It has a fine spruce top and the most beautiful rosewood back and sides you can imagine. The scale length is 650 mm and the nut width 52 mm.

It has a remarkably full tone. Amazing how loud this guitar can be. The tone has been beautifully matured and presents the most beautiful timbres you can imagine. The combination of Brazilian rosewood and spruce on this guitar is pure magic. This is the perfect guitar for someone who is searching for a beautiful and yet different sound.

It has been restored and some cracks has been glued – everything you’d expect from a guitar that age. Now it again presents itself in a nice condition. It plays very nice up and down the neck, with a low action.
