Marshall / JTM-45 / 1966 / Amp For Sale

1966 Marshall JTM-45 Head | Transitional Rose-Morris Era | €11,999

A legendary amp in great vintage condition, and described as all original and ridiculously clean internally.

This JTM-45 has a seriously cool backstory: it was previously owned by Doug Lock (owner of the famous “Duggie Burst” 1960 Les Paul) and was used as his main gigging rig when he played in the early 1970s proto-metal band Bulldozer. The band was represented by Tony Iommi’s I.M.A. agency, and the amp is said to have seen extensive UK touring, including venues such as The Marquee and The Speakeasy (London) and The Cavern Club (Liverpool).

After Bulldozer, Doug Lock went on to work as a guitar tech for major artists including Frank Zappa, Jimmy Page, Steve Winwood, Bad Company, and The Moody Blues, and later became Motörhead’s tour manager. He later moved to Ireland, and the amp reportedly lived in Cork until coming to us.

Tech highlights (as listed):
• Transitional 1966 model from when Rose Morris took over distribution
White back panel + JTM-45 plexi front panel
EL34 power tubes
GZ34 tube rectifier

A truly phenomenal sounding JTM-45, and a very special piece of kit to have in the shop.
