Martin / 000-28 / 1955 / Natural / Guitar

This is a BARGAIN priced and a bit of an ugly looking vintage Martin 000-28 classic rosewood/spruce guitar that has a killer sound and action and will not break the bank!

Way is it so reasonable? Well it does have a few well repaired cracks on the top that are old, have been looked at and are stable. It also has a crack on the lower side that is quite long but again is an old repair and stable. The back seems to have escaped relatively mildly. Because of this, it is not going to win and beauty pageants BUT, this will be more than made up for by the rich sound which is truly divine and the playability which is perfect. It does not need a neck set.

I am sure it's battle scars will have a few tales to tell but one thing is for sure, whoever did the repairs must have really liked it to spend a fair bit on it. You can of course, understand this when you pick it up and play. It is the classic 50's, sweet sounding Martin 000-28 that you hear on many a classic recording from all eras. It has sparkly highs, a solid bottom end and a mature mid range that in my opinion is the heart and sound of a good acoustic.

Action is excellent across the range at around 3mm or just over at the 12th fret. Neck is the classic Martin 'V' profile and there is no denying it is a superb sounding vintage Martin which is priced to sell and can only go up in value.

It could be the best £5,995 you have ever spent...
