Port City Amps / Dual Fifty / Amp
The Dual Fifty is a two channel, hand wired amplifier that was designed as the ultimate pedal platform. This amp not only sounds great but inhales pedals of all kinds! The normal channel of this amp was based off of a Blackface circuit design. Dynamic and clean are two words that can be used in describing this channel. The "thick" channel is more 18 watt grit, yet smooth as silk when not cranked. The jazz players and rockers love this channel. The Dual Fifty is offered in a combo and head variety.
In addition to is 6L6 power tubes the Dual Fifty offers pure tube rectification! (GZ34) A vacuum tube rectifier will yield more to the player's touch dynamics, sound warmer and give the compression and sustain in a way than a solid state rectifier cannot.
The Port City Dual Fifty is handmade in North Carolina using only the highest quality components such as Mojo Dijon and Illinois capacitors, US made replica transformers, vintage style cloth covered wire and Switchcraft jacks. The Dual Fifty enclosure is crafted from 1⁄4" inch finger jointed solid pine.
