Epiphone / Coronet / 1965 / Silver Fox / Guitar For Sale

A vibey, player-grade 1965 Epiphone Coronet finished in the lesser seen Silver Fox, this one's had some work over the years but remains a seriously fun, lightweight rock machine with killer tone and bags of character!

The body has been refinished, and it has a well-executed stinger most likely added to conceal a historic repair. The bridge and studs are modern repros, but the original double-line Kluson tuners are still in place. The truss rod cover is missing, and it's been refretted with jumbo wire, making it play clean and comfortably up the neck.

The neck profile is classic mid-'60s Epiphone - slim at the nut, but with enough depth to wear it welltapering out to a more substantial feel further up the neck.

The pickguard has shrunk a little with age adn two extra screw holes have been added at some point to keep things stable.

The standout feature of this guitar is the original P-90, which sounds absolutely huge - raw, open adn perfectly matched to the Coronet's stripped-down, no-frills approach. There's an immediacy and livliness to the tone that's hard to match, especially in a guitar this light and resonant. Whether cranked through a small combo or run clean, it responds with punch and clarity that's a joy to hear!

If you're after a cool, lived-in vintage solidbody that's ready to go, this one ticks all the boxes. Lightweight, resonant, and full of character, it's everything a great Coronet should be.
