Here we have an exceptional condition, near mint and relatively rare, Fender Custom Telecaster from 1966. It is complete with it's original hard case which is also near mint with a rare to see, fully intact logo.
It also comes with a period correct strap, manual, case key and envelope, bridge cover and a Hire Purchase agreement dated September 1967 from probably it's original owner!
Virtually unfaded and gleaming in it's original sunburst finish, it pops out at you as soon as you open the case. It has hardly had any play time at all and the frets are pretty much as new with no fingerboard wear at all. Look how unfaded that neck is and the lack of wear on the superb transitional logo...
All original or at the very least least period correct. Neck date is October 1966, pots date to 18th week of 1966 and serial number is firmly in 1966.
It is stunning condition but does have a small amount of fine checking you have to get at the right angle to see and the binding does have some splits in places but it is all stable and nothing is coming away.
It has been converted to the more useful, modern wiring configuration which activates the tone control for both pickups (not just the bridge) and some of the solder has been disturbed.
Super light weight of just 3.3Kg, it plays like a dream with both original pickups strong, clear and Teletastic...
