Fender / Stratocaster / 1963 / Sunburst / Guitar For Sale

How about a super vibey, big neck, all original, classic 1963 Fender Strat? A no-brainer really…

This guitar oozes style. The three tone sunburst has faded and been worn away in places giving it that distinctive look that you only get from an early 60s sunburst strat. All the hall-marks of a well used and well loved guitar are here..

It was obtained via a dealer who bought it from a pawn shop from the original family. Included is a dedication to the mom who bought this guitar for her son who owned it for most of its life.

The neck (dated January 1963) has worn wonderfully and is the desirable fuller feeling neck profile you only get during 1963 to early 1964. The frets have plenty of life left in them and the fretboard is in good shape, showing some signs of wear.

The nitrate pickguard is in good condition and thankfully there has been no extra routing inside. The other plastic parts are in great shape.

The hardware is in good condition with some of the usual corrosion which does not affect performance of course.

Electronically, everything is as expected. The all controls date to week 6 of 1963. The neck pickup is correct original 1963 black bottom pickup though when we received the guitar it had an early 80s pickup in there. You would never have known this if we hadn't had told you! All pickup windings are original and very strong and balanced.

The ground lead on the neck pickup has been altered and patched with heatshrink and the solder joints on the back of the volume control have been reheated.

Guitar comes with its correct hardshell case.

Sonically, this guitar delivers those wonderful 60’s black bottom Strat tones built on the bedrock of a spry acoustic sound. The neck profile is a nice medium one and it is a nice light weight of 3.53Kg

This is a stunning instrument with a cool vibe that just sounds sensational. Arguably the perfect Stratocaster...
