Fender / Telecaster / 1960 / Clive Brown Blonde Body Restoration / Guitar

It's very hard to go wrong with a 1960 Blonde, slab board Telecaster...

Blonde telecasters are iconic. Be it the earlier blackguard, butterscotch incarnation or the parchment blonde when Fender moved over to white guard, the combination of ash body and the translucent (to various degrees) finish made for an unmistakable combination.

We first saw this particular guitar around 2 years ago, and at the time it had suffered the indignity of multiple less than perfect refins. It has since been restored to an incredibly faithful aged and faded Blonde finish by Clive Brown, and we suspect it's never looked better!

The guitar looks great. Clive has done an excellent job restoring and aging the blonde finish. It looks utterly authentic and fits right in amongst the plethora of original finish guitars here at the store.

The neck has been refretted, but retains its original finish and single line Kluson Deluxe tuners. The pickguard is correct and in decent condition for the age. with a small bit of the corner missing by the control plate.

The electronics are all correct although it has been modified to post '67 wiring so you can get the full tonal range of the neck pickup. The pots date to week 19 of 1960. The pickups are correct too, although some of the solder joints have of course been disturbed due to the re-finishing process.

The guitar comes with a non original hardshell case.

This guitar’s ash body has quite a resonant tone with a bite that sits wonderfully with the bridge pickup. The neck pickup has a darker tone which mixes well in the middle position. This guitar isn’t shrill but has plenty of the attack we look for in a good telecaster and is typical of early 60's Teles that are not quite as shrill as the later models.

This guitar delivers the the twang without breaking the bank. Grab it before it gets away…
