Gibson / ES-140T / 1959 / Sunburst / Guitar For Sale

Introduced in 1950, the ¾ size ES-140t was intended as a student model for younger players with smaller hands. In today's market they represent a really fun alternative to the full size Gibson archtops, the short scale length and diddy dimensions make for a joyful playing experience, while the original 50’s P90 provides proper full size tone.

This guitar is in really great condition, it's pretty much unfaded and the sunburst finish is still vivid all over. This guitar has had a life and there are signs of use but it's not been abused. The neck too is in good condition and both fretboard and the original frets are in great shape. Aside from the strap button that everyone puts on the heel it is 100% original and has not been tomb raided for parts!

The rosewood bridge is in great condition as are the plastics.

Inside, the electronics are all correct and the pickup works really well with all the growl and warmth you expect from vintage P-90’s.

The guitar comes with a period vintage, but non original hard shell case which actually looks great and fits really well.

There’s jazz, blues and roots all hiding in here. Even with a single P90, there's plenty of tonal scope and it's a joy to play plugged in or acoustically.

These student models are a way of accessing these fabulous Gibson tones without the higher price tags of the other more desirable models, grab them before they fly away.
