Gibson / ES-345 TDC SV / 1960 / Cherry Red / Guitar

One of our favourite type of guitars in our favourite colour. A lovely, 1960 Gibson ES-345 TDC SV in stunning faded cherry watermelon colour with the desirable stop tail, PAF pickups and never had any Bigsby fitted or any neck, or finish issues anywhere.

Included is a brown and pink Liftom 5 latch case to complete a very desirable package. All hardware is original, or at least period correct including the long guard, the no wire ABR-1 bridge and the short seam lightweight tailpiece.

Guitar came in with a grounding issue which has been fixed by our tech who has also given it a setup so it plays real well at the moment. 2 x PAF pickups are both evenly balanced and strong, one has the sticker missing and has slot head screws. Slot head screw PAF's did exist for a while in 1960, if you do not believe me do a search.

I do also have another 1960 ES-345 with slot head PAF's and have seen them on ES-355's too but yet to find one on a ES-335 so maybe it was just some of the gold PAF's from 1960 that ended up being slot rather than cross!

All pots look to be original and are sealed in their mu metal screening cans, pickups may have been played with their overs off some time ago and there is evidence other tuners were once fitted but no extra holes are visible on the back of the headstock. Correct single ring, single line gold Klusons are back on there now.

Neck is a transitional feel and not super skinny as they tended to get a few months later.

Beautiful looking, playing and sounding guitar from Gibson'd true golden era of ES's....
