Gibson / ES-350 / 1949 / Sunburst / Guitar

Here is a wicked old Gibson archtop from the slammin' post war period. This is a 1949 Gibson ES-350 with 2 x classic original P-90's and is mostly original, in fact the only things that I can see that have been replaced are the tailpiece (original, broken one is in the case) and possibly the pickguard or at least the pickguard bracket has.

Guitar is very well set up, it has of course been re-fretted but is now a very fast and low action with excellent playability. All electrics are original, including the very cool sounding vintage P-90's. There is a mis match of knobs - the blend one is completely clear whereas the volume and tone ones are numbered as you would expect on an very early 50's Gibson electric. Not sure if this was intentional from the factory or not.

Case is a modern hard case which is superb it protects and fits the guitar extremely well. Beautiful sunburst finish is all original and has some mild flame and even some strong flame on the sides, especially the top side which is the one you look at when you play it - nice.

There are not many of these left in this condition, especially in the UK and 2 pickup, full body P-90 ES's are a wondrous thing to hear…
